House Edge Calculator

Updated

Set the rules of the table in front of you and see what it costs. Each rule is priced separately, so you can see which one is doing the damage — and it is almost always the payout.

The short version

How to read it

The breakdown under the result shows what each rule is contributing. In practice one line is usually larger than all the others put together:

A 6:5 payout adds 1.36%. Every other rule on the list is worth a fraction of that. If the table pays 6:5, you can stop reading the rest of the rules — the game is already bad.

The figures are increments to a baseline of six decks, S17, double on anything, double after split, no surrender and 3:2, which our solver puts at 0.456%. Combining rules is very close to additive at these magnitudes, which is why the tool adds them — the error against a full recalculation is in the hundredths of a percent.

What it assumes',

Perfect basic strategy. Every figure here is a ceiling. A player who will not hit a stiff hand is paying about 3.5% regardless of what the table rules say — seven times the number this calculator will show you.

If you want the number that applies to your play rather than to optimal play, the honest answer is that it is worse than this, and which mistakes cost what.
